Dedicated to making you effective at voter communication
Unfortunately our go-to methods of voter persuasion have not been effective, while conservative messaging has dominated the national narrative for forty years. We may have won a victory in 2018, but we didn’t do it by getting our communication act together.
Using cognitive science in a way both activists and voters can easily understand we offer workshops, online training, and consulting so activists, candidates and organizations will be maximally effective at voter persuasion. We also offer practical fieldwork training because the nuts and bolts of voter contact let you take your newfound skills directly to voters. Besides our online course and in-person workshops, many free resources are available on this site. We want everyone to learn these skills!
“Connections Lab offers an excellent introduction to framing for progressives.”

Connections Lab
In-Person Workshops
These three hour on location workshops focus on giving you the skills and knowledge to persuade voters. While facts and logic—our go-to methods of persuasion—are important, unfortunately they’re not as effective as values and emotions. Built on the work of linguist and cognitive scientist, George Lakoff, and current science in psychology, the workshop and online course compare how liberals and conservatives see the world and how those worldviews determine and explain their differing policy positions. We offer a method we call Stop, Drop and Roll so you can craft messages with honesty and integrity based on sound science to win today and in the long run.
